In May of 2021, Robin Morales became aware that while there were several food pantries in our communities, there were not as many offerings for folks in need of medical or hygiene supplies. She became aware of high need for certain medical and Personal Protective Equipment. Due to the lack of access to these kinds of supplies for people in need, Robin began storing and offering things like incontinence products, canes, walkers among other personal things. That supply array has grown.
Robin acquires things through donation. Often, as a loved one passes away or a family member moves into assisted living, certain medical or personal supply items that are not transferable are donated. Also, items left over from surgery that can’t be used are donated. Food items are secured by a team of folks who search for good buys to donate.
Robin gets no compensation for her time and effort. She has a regular full-time job and does this kind of loving collection and disbursement on the side.
Robin has a Facebook following for those who wish to learn more about her project. It’s called Sharing Pantry Medical & PPE (under Robin Huston). A drop off box for donations is located at her home in the 3600 block of Hampton Way.
If you care to assist Robin, you may do so in these ways:
- Donate items as listed above, baby and personal wipes, personal hygiene products (call first)
- Donate non-perishable food products
- Is there someone handy with building storage within her garage? Robin needs to revamp that area and could use some expertise and muscle.
If you wish to help or get more information from Robin, call her at 408-605-3387.
Thank you, Robin for your efforts with helping others in need. You help to make our neighborhood a special place that it is.
