Alex Lepeska is Attending Meetings
Our neighbor, Alex Lepeska, has volunteered to attend safety reporting meetings held by the Kent Public Works department. Thank you, Alex, for this recent submission to our neighborhood (note that the link contains a survey as well as map of reported areas of concern):
I did attend the advisory group meeting and do have a few notes to share:
1. The survey is now live and can be found at the following web location:
https://fp.mysocialpinpoint.com/kent-target-zero-action-plan
This is where the advisory team will capture public input. I have personally placed a few places I am firmly aware of as pedestrian concern. Please review and add your comments. Not sure when the survey closes and have inquiry in about that.
2. There was a staff presentation to the Council covering the last 5-year period of crashes. While Kent does this update as part of each Local Road Safety Plan update, they will also be including this analysis in the TZAP and the next advisory group meeting. If you’d like to see the larger presentation, the KentTV21 recording is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xl69Dmttx2M. With the mentioned presentation at the 31-minute mark.
3. Kent YMCA and Kent Parks Community Days is slated for Saturday, February 24, 12–3pm at the Kent YMCA. This community event will introduce the YMCA and Kent Parks to anyone in the community that may not have a clear understanding of what the City and YMCA offer together…. Including free access to various elements of the facility. This will be one of the out-in-the community engagement events with community-based organizations to also engage on the transportation safety dialogue for the action plan.
